Summary:
The Oswego Township Road District Laborer/Operator position is responsible for the general maintenance duties performed throughout the Oswego Township.
Requires an ability to understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively, operate equipment safely and the ability to perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions.
Applicants must possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, CDL Class B or the ability to obtain one in 6 months. Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and stand for long periods of time. CDL holders must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check through FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Applicants may have to complete a criminal background check.
Job Duties:
- Brush pickup, leaf pickup and tree trimming.
- Snow removal
- General construction work
- General vehicle maintenance
- Storm drain repairs and replacements.
- Other miscellaneous tasks
Ideal candidates will possess a CDL Class B, have previous public works knowledge, snow plow experience and experience operating equipment such as a front-end loader, combination loader, street sweeper and jetter machine.
